Bumble bees make up a well-known group of medium sized to large, stout-bodied, hairy insects which

This common yellow jacket makes paper nests, usually in underground burrows, in and under logs or
around the base of stumps. Wasps of this species are attracted to sweet liquids and can be a nuisance
at picnics when they land on soft drink cans to drink.
